  • I've been taking Akiko sensei's lessons for a few years now. I started because I am so interested in Japanese culture. Akiko sensei patiently taught me how to use daily expressions both in a casual and formal manner. Though she is gentle, she is very straightforward when she sees my mistakes. She corrects me in an easily understandable manner. I am always encouraged by the end of the class because I feel a step closer to understanding that cool j-pop song or what the actors are saying in J-movies that I love. I would love to visit Japan one day. Thank you Akiko Sensei!!

  • coming Akiko-sensei provides a lot of value to the Japanese learning process that is not immediately obvious. She uses a textbook to teach Japanese but does not confine herself to it. She’ll cover the written material and additionally will explain the subtle details that the book may leave out. She’ll also let you know when the language in the book is dated and provide you the relevant vocabulary. Textbooks do a great job teaching students proper Japanese, but Akiko-sensei will go the extra step and teach you how Japanese people talk in real life. Again, Akiko-sensei provides a lot of value to the Japanese learning process that is not immediately obvious to people unfamiliar with the language. She has been my teacher for the past few years now and I highly recommend her.

  • AOKI SENSEI CREATED A FUN SPACE FOR JAPANESE LESSONS, WHICH HELPED MOTIVATE MY SON TO CONTINUE LEARNING JAPANESE. MY SON REALLY LIKED AOKI SENSEI'S HUMOR AND FUN APPROACH, AND I APPREICATED HER FLEXIBILITY TO ADAPT TO HIS PACE AND STYLE AS SHE UNDERSTOOD THE CHALLENGES OF CHILDREN WHO WERE LEARNING JAPANESE IN THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING ENVIRONMENT. AS A MOTHER, I ALSO ENJOYED COMMUNICATION WITH HER THROUGH NOTES IN THE HOMEWORK AND EMAILS.
